Starcraft 2 Terran Tactics-How To Dominate The SC2 Universe In 3 Easy Steps
Are you looking for powerful and effective Starcraft 2 Terran tactics? As a Terran player you are faced with dozens and dozens of strategies, tactics and choices. The best way to claim more victories and gain a higher ladder rank is implement easy tactics that will bring about results. Here are three basic tips to help you gain the advantage over your opponents.
Terran Tactic # 1: Don’t Just Sit Behind Your Wall
Although it may seem like an obvious thing not to do, many players have a hard time deciding when to expand. It is tempting to stay behind the wall and build up your forces, but this allows your opponent to gain map control and ultimately leads to a depletion of your resources.
To avoid constant attacks, strike at your opponent throughout the game, build more units and definitely match his economy. Build your expansion on the edge of your base near where you are putting together more forces. This allows you time to assemble more forces without constantly worrying about defending your base.
Terran Tactic # 2: Execute A Reaper Rush Quickly
As a Terran player you probably already know that reapers are capable of jumping up and down cliffs. This skill allows the reaper to cover the map quickly and destroy your opponents economy and minerals.
To fully benefit from these abilities, make sure that you get the reaper out as fast as you can and inside your opponent’s base before he is able to prepare his units to attack. It is important that you utilize a good scouting technique prior to attacking the opposition’s base. A good scouting strategy involves using SCVs (Space Construction Vehicles), the Terran worker unit.
Terran Tactic # 3: Use SCVs To Perform Many Tasks
Considered by many players to be the backbone of the Terran war machine, SCVs can perform many construction tasks as well as attack the enemy. In fact, experienced players check out their opponent’s tech at the outset of the game with a SCV. It is hands down the most useful unit to the Terrans because it gathers resources, repairs mechanical units and damaged buildings.
One task that is easy to accomplish using a SCV is to attack your opponent quickly. You must micro correctly which means that you should select the SCV and then identify the unit you want to attack and right click on the unit. If you are engaged in a worker on worker fight, this technique is especially useful.
As a Terran player you can also use the SCV to:
-Carry campaign items.
-Repair or construct structures in space.
-Gather vespene gas or minerals.
-Support operations when base building.
-Provide armor support.
Overall, playing and winning the game is similar to playing chess. You need to think through your moves before taking action. So, make sure that you take the time to study a variety of Starcraft 2 Terrran tactics.
