What Is a Swivel Wall Mount?
A swivel wall mount is a handy little feature if you need to place your television in a tight corner. It allows you to easily turn the television to a suitable angle for optimal viewing. In other words, your television set is not stuck flat in one position on the wall.
With a swivel mount you are able to rotate your Plasma TV up to 45 degrees left or right. The television set can also be angled down up to 15 degrees to cut off the glare from any light sources. Another bonus is that you are able to extend the set from five to eleven inches from the wall depending on the length of the extendable arm. This is ideal if you need to store away your television in a corner after viewing or if your television is kept inside a cupboard, as they are in most hotel rooms.
The cable inlay system, which comes inbuilt with a swivel wall mount, hides all unsightly wires and cables. The wires are run against the frame of the wall mount so they are not so visible. This is definitely a plus point because dangling wires are seen as messy and can spoil the mood of a room.
Safety is an issue if you are hanging anything from a wall. This mount comes with an auto lock function that secures the television set to its frame with bolts. With the TV safely screwed in you can rest assured that the set will not fall from its mount and injure anyone or damage other furnishings in the process.
By hanging the television set high up on the wall, the remaining wall space is left free for additional furnishings such as tables, low cabinets or bookshelves. This is especially helpful for people who live in smaller homes or apartments.
Swivel wall mounts are commonly seen in offices and security posts. They can also be used for educational and home theatre setups.
