Let’s face it. The whole dating thing can be more than a little intimidating. However, it really can be one of the most entertaining parts of finding the right relationship with the perfect gay man or straight guy.
1. A classic date idea is going for a round or two of miniature golf. Mini-golf is a great way to enjoy a stimulating activity but still have a solid conversation. Golfing is an intimate enough game in that will allow you to get to know one another while not just sitting in a restaurant. Whether you’re great at the game or not, flirting over your skills or lack thereof is a great way to lighten the mood. Just be sure to leave your overly competitive side at your house.
2. If you live around a downtown area, a terrific date is to go for a night on the town. A downtown area always has plenty of eclectic things to do. Whether you’re going in and out of stores, or strolling through the park, the environment around you will provide for a great time, and some great memories. The exciting atmosphere of the city will also stimulate lots of creative conversation, and is a great way to learn about each other. You may even do something that’s unique to the city, such as a stage performance, check out the skyscrapers, or go to the pier.
3. If you both are energetic and able, you might consider going on a hike together. Most communities have forest preserves or nature centers that are a great place to walk together. The change of scenery will certainly be remembered as a fun date, an it can stimulate conversation about nature. A vigorous walk is great for having the stunning environment spark a romantic mood. You may even bring along a picnic basket and eat surrounded by the beautiful trees.
4. On a rainy day, stay in and put together a jigsaw puzzle or a model airplane. You might even choose to build a model that can actually fly, and then you know what you can do on your next date!
Dating really can be an exciting part of being in or starting a fresh relationship. Building a social dating environment is important in order to get to know the other person without introducing any unnecessary pressure. After all, you might not recall forever that lousy movie you sat through, but you’re sure to recall the excitement of any of these more creative date ideas.
