Para Ord
springfield xd 40 or para ordnance 16.40?
i’m considering to buy a new handgun that i will use as range gun and home defense. i like the para ord because of the quality and magazine capacity but i the grip is a little big for me. i like the xd 40 because the grip is good and also good reputation. but i think the para ord is better in terms of quality and reliability. any suggestion or comment?
You kind of answered your own question.
if the grip is better for you on the XD then you will shoot it better than the Para.
Now the good thing is that you are choosing from two reputable and well reviewed guns.
The other day a guy was asking which gun would be better for home defense a .22lr or (I think) a Keltec .380.
I have shot both of these guns and I actually prefer the XD trigger over the Para. The para trigger is not as crisp as some of the better brands of 1911′s out there. (Kimber,Springfield, etc…..)
All things being equal, the gun that fits you better and you’re more comfortable with will be your best choice as a self defense gun.
The XD(M) 40 by the way has a 16 round capacity as well, as opposed to the 12 round capacity of the Xd40.
