What are the best rail panels for an AR-15?
Currently I have Magpul XTM panels, but they frequently become loose and fall off when I am at the range shooting, so I need something a little more secure. Are ladder panels any good, if not what are some of the better brands out there?
These are the interlocking Magpul ones that require two rounds of bullet tips to remove? I am surprised they are comming off – makes me wonder if you are bashing them on hard enough? You can’t be gentle with these. You gotta smash ‘em in.
The best ones are made by Daniel Defense – they have the current contract for the US Military. Both the Daniel Defense and TangoDown models of panel covers are top notch – but – are not a cheap date like the Magpul. I love Daniel Defense. I build an SBR this fall using their 10.3″ barrel and receiver. Top Quality stuff. Not cheap. But – you do get what you pay for.
