Carry On Luggage Packing Tips For Long Flights
Packing your carry on luggage is important, as its contents will be your companion throughout the air travel. Of course going on a vacation is really fun. But not the long flights you have to take. When picking backpacks or tote handbags, remember that size matters. It should be small enough to meet airline requirements, but large enough to carry all your important things. It’s best to go for ones that are made from soft fabrics or other materials. This way, they can also be used as pillows.
Resealable plastic bags come in handy for separating items that will go into your luggage. Such plastic bags will keep items from getting jumbled, especially small ones. For example, freshening up is hassle-free if you got all your toiletries in a single resealable plastic bag. Any item that may leak or smell can be safely stored in such resealable containers.
There are jewelry cases designed for those who take their jewelry set with them during travel. Such has a protective lining which keeps your items from getting scratched or dented. The compartments are great for keeping them apart, so they don’t get entangled with each other. Your medications too should be stored in a single pouch, though in their respective containers.
Magazines are much better travel companions than books. They’re lighter and cheaper too, so you can simply throw them out after reading them. Plus it’s easy to pick up copies even during the last minute. You can get them in newsstands on the way to the airport, or at the newsstand found in the airport itself.
Other than reading to keep yourself busy, pick magazines that contain information you might actually benefit from. For instance, you might have had sleepless nights before the flight out of excitement, thus you ended up with acne breakouts. A beauty magazine with an article on how to get rid of acne sure might come in handy.
Packing your own snack means that you like what you got, and you got something to reach for should you get hungry. This is also important if you’re a weight watcher or following a particular diet. It’s not all the time that airline food is friendly on your palette and waistline.
The airplane cabin can get really cold at times, thus your skin is more susceptible to drying out. Liberally apply moisturizing lotion to exposed areas of the body to prevent dryness, scaling and itchiness. Also, bring a tub or stick of lip balm for your lips, and apply as needed. Take with you a small blanket, extra shirt or a pair of socks to help fight off cold cabin temperatures.
