Glamour Modelling for the Beginner Step One Thinking About the Glamour Shoot
Introduction
Many new model want to be’s think that glamour modelling is all about getting your kit off and showing as much flesh as possible. Not so, most decent glamour modelling shots show a minimum of flesh. While these is nothing wrong with erotic modelling (where you show anything and everything) many models are nervous about their first shoot.
1. What Are You going to Show?
Before you have your first glamour model shoot have a think about what you’re prepared to show. Remember it is your body and you can show as much or as little as you want. If you’re happy to show all, brilliant, you’ve got the confidence. If not, it shouldn’t be a problem, never let anyone pressure you.
2. The Gear
Shoot may require you to wear a number of different sets of lingerie. There is nothing wrong with asking if you can see these beforehand. If there is a new photographer or you’re getting your first shoot done for a portfolio then feel free to suggest your own lingerie and clothing.
3. The Photographer
The glamour photographer is your friend. It is important to build up a good relationship with them. Listen to what they are suggesting as they have experience in what they are doing. If you are having a first shoot for a portfolio, tell the photographer. You may even be able to talk through the sort of photos you hope to get out of the shoot. Communication is the key. If you’re not happy with something let them know, all photo shoots are better when the model is happy and the photographer knows what they are comfortable with.
4. The Shoot Plan
This is what is about to be shot. If you’re a pro you’ll have had a briefing. If you’re new and getting a glamour shot done by a photographer without an agency sit down with the photographer and work out what shots are going to be done. Even if it costs you a bit more in their time it’ll mean you’re going to be happy with the end product.
5. Using the Shoot Photos
If you’re using the photo shoots to apply for a glamour model agency, such as North West Model Agency then get a good selection of photographs done up to your level of comfort. Agencies want to see what you’re capable of.
Conclusion
Being a glamour model isn’t all about getting as much flesh out as possible. The shoot should be well defined with a goal in mind. You need to make sure you’re prepared for the shoot and you’re not uncomfortable with what you’re about to do.
