“How To Maintain A Stun Gun Working Properly”
A stun gun takes less care and responsibility than say a hand-gun or a revolver would but it does take some care nonetheless. In the following article i will go over tips and tricks that should be implemented to give your stun gun the longest life possible. Many stun guns are built tough and designed to take extreme punishment meaning they have hard shells and high resistance plastic that was designed to withstand great force and the stun guns own shock out-put. But there are things the stun guns shaft cant protect and only you can for example most stun guns are built with an internal battery this battery is potent and lasts a very long time but there are things you can do to keep it working optimally. Charging it at least once a month even if you have not used the stun gun once keeps the battery from going stagnant and losing capacity over-time. So if you have not used the stun gun at all remember to charge it once a month for no less than 2 hours. The reason i say no less than 2 hours is because it has been proven over-time that 2 hours of charge completely fills and recharges a stun guns battery. Less than two hours will have the stun gun functioning properly but not for as long a time as a two hour charge would. On to my next point a stun gun was designed for self defense meaning you would apply the stun gun to a person while discharging the shock letting the electric current be dispersed throughout the attackers body. That is the idea of a stun gun but when you excessively discharge electric currents into nothing in particular (for example thin air) you will wear out the stun guns electric prongs over-time. Never use oils or any type of cleaning liquid on a stun guns prongs it can disrupt the electric effect between the two prongs. Last but not least if there’s a part of the stun gun you should take care of the most it would be the prongs. The stun guns shaft is pretty hard and made in many cases with high resistance plastic. Dont get me wrong the prongs are hard themselves they are metal after all but they are the ones that make your stun gun work meaning you can live with a crack in the stun guns shaft but a crack in a prong more than likely will diminish its power. Those are the main points of taking care of a stun gun and following them will keep your stun gun running for a very long time.
Quick Tips To Keep Your Stun Gun Working Optimally
- If the stun gun has an internal battery charge it at least once a month (even if you have not used the stun gun).
- Charge the stun gun for at least two hours (two hours allows the stun gun to charge completely).
- Do not discharge electric currents excessively into thin air (you will wear out the prongs over-time).
- Do not use oil or liquid cleaners to clean the stun guns prongs (this may disrupt the electric discharge next time used).
