My SGT recently told me that I have to keep my pistol orriented towards the ground. Is there any regulation su?
A MSG recently told me that I have to keep my pistol oriented towards the ground while its attached to my MOLLE gear. Is there any AR that says this? My pistol is pointing at about a 120 degrees towards the ground, or if you were looking at a clock it would be at the 4 o’clock position. This is how i’ve always seen it on just about everyone’s gear and is the most effective especially when I have to quickly draw it, but this NCO states that it must point straight down so if you have an accidental discharge it will hit the ground.
It’s to reduce the risk of a bullet riccochet hitting someone else if so chambered with a live rd.
9 mm NATO rds are fmj increasing the chances of bullet glance offs. Even the ground at an angle. Being pointed straight down increases the chances of the bullet embedding in the dirt or inducing all its energy in said direction on concrete and asphault pavement and the while decreasing penetrating a human body if it does strike one self.
