Samsung CLP 500 – The Master Home Business Printer
The Samsung CLP 500 Printer is a great machine that is quiet and prints monochromatic printouts quickly. I was designed for small office use but would also make a great home or personal computer. It does not have networking capabilities, which is normally desired for small offices or businesses. The paper tray will hold up to 250 pages and the output tray also holds 250 pages. The best toner for this printer is the Samsung CLP 500 toner cartridge.
This printer is fairly heavy when fully loaded weighing about 35kg. So once you have it in place and set up it is best to leave it in that spot. It is a very fast printer and can print 20 pages per minute when printing in black and white and 5 pages per minute when printing in color.
The CLP 500 can be upgraded to contain Ethernet and wireless connectivity but if you want these features you may be able to save on the cost by purchasing the Samsung CLP 500N printer. The standard CLP 500printer connects using either a parallel port of USB cable. The USB cable does not come with the printer. A great feature is the fact that the printer does double-sided printing and it can connect to either a personal computer of a Mac.
The Samsung CLP 500 printer excels at printing graphics. The text is not quite as clear as the graphics as it is slightly paler and not as crisp. The graphic printing is superior for both black and white and color printing.
The difference is not so great that you could not use the printer for home, personal or small office use. Though if you print a lot of text and not so much graphics you may want to look into another printer.
The starter toner cartridge will only last about 2,000 pages so you will need to purchase a new Samsung CLP 500 printer toner cartridge fairly quickly. The full size toner cartridge will last for an average of 7,500 pages. The printer uses a 4-color toner system. The memory on the machine is quite high, 65 MB, and can be expanded further to 192 MB for an additional cost.
It is possible to print on various media including envelopes, transparencies, labels, plain paper, recycled paper and postal cards. The resolution is excellent at 1200 x 1200 dots per inch. The printer is compatible with Microsoft and Apple operating systems as well as various Linux systems. Linux systems tend to be used more for businesses and Microsoft and Apple for personal or home computers.
If you are looking for fast and reliable printing then the Samsung CLP 500 printer is an excellent option. In order to keep the printer running you will need to have a supply of paper and Samsung CLP 500 printer toner to replace when needed. For truly exception graphic printing in color and black and white, there is no better model or Samsung CLP 500 printer toner for the price. It’s the best toner.
