Specialist Hand Guards For The AR

Daniel Defense produced their first railed hand guard almost a decade ago. They now have one of the most impressive ranges of AR quad rails and cater for a variety of specialist applications.

The Daniel Defense M4 rail was Daniel Defense’s first AR quad rail. Ten years on, it is still one of the lightest and strongest available. This combination of lightness and strength made it the choice of the United States Army Marksmanship Training Unit when they designed the Designated Marksman Rifle. The DD M4 Rail is available in a variety of different lengths and configurations to suit carbines and mid and ful length AR15 rifles. A new barrel nut, indexing ring and locking collar secure the railed hand guard to the rifle. To stop the hand guard rotating, two stainless steel indexing pins are inserted into holes in the barrel nut.

The Daniel Defense Omega X rail  is a blend of the Omega rail – a specialised two piece rail designed for gas piston driven AR15s and the Lite and RIS II rails with their proprietary bolt-up attachment mechanism. The bolt up mechanism uses a proprietary barrel nut wrench that must be purchased seperately. Other than a handguard integral to the receiver, this is as strong as it gets. Although installation is technically a gunsmithing operation, the two piece design and easy removal enables easy cleaning of the barrel or the gas piston system.

The Daniel Defense 7.62 Lite Rail is the Lite Rail [scaled up~dimensioned] to use on a variety of .308 ARs. It can fit the Rock River LAR8, the Armalite AR10 and the DPMS Panther. Each manufacturer’s weapon requires a uniquely dimensioned barrel nut – fitting the wrong one can result in injury or death!. You have to remove the rifle’s existing front sight tower for fitting as this is a one piece unit. In conjunction with the flat top each of these rails creates an uninterrupted length of Picatinny rail for optimum flexibility of optics mounting. Carbine, mid-length and carbine versions are available
